Course Overview

This training equips professionals and communuty members with the knowledge and confidence to fulfill their mandatory reporting obligations in the Northern Territory. Participants will learn legal requirements, ethical considerations, and practical steps to report concerns while ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals.

Key Learning Outcomes

Participants will:
 
✔ Understand NT-specific mandatory reporting laws and their legal responsibilities.
✔ Recognize indicators of child abuse, neglect, domestic violence, and other reportable concerns.
✔ Learn how to make a report effectively while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
✔ Understand protections for reporters and the consequences of failing to report.
✔ Explore best practices for trauma-informed and culturally appropriate reporting, particularly when working with Indigenous communities.

  • Building trust while maintaining reporting obligations

  • Role-playing exercises and case discussions
