Course Overview

This training equips staff and services with knowledge and practical strategies to recognise, manage, and prevent vicarious trauma. It is tailored to the unique challenges of working in the Northern Territory, including remote work, cultural considerations, and repetitive exposure to high levels of trauma.

Key Learning Outcomes

Participants will:
 
✔ Understand what vicarious trauma is and how it differs from burnout and compassion fatigue.
✔ Recognise early warning signs in themselves and colleagues.
✔ Develop self-care and resilience strategies to maintain emotional well-being.
✔ Implement workplace strategies to create a trauma-informed and supportive environment.
